The final and biggest event of the year for women is Women’s Week. Over the past thirty years, Women’s Week has grown into a festival with over 300 events that attracts some of the most talented performers in the LGBTQ scene from all across the world as well as from the local community. Opera singers, comedians, actresses, authors, and musicians of all kinds flock to Provincetown for a week of celebration and entertainment and to participate in a wide array of events. There are plays by, for, and about women, Provincetown’s own American Idol, literary meet-and-greets, writer’s workshops, comedy shows, concerts, and more. In addition to performances are football and golf tournaments, whale watching, dune tours, and hikes. Provincetown’s historic art scene also takes a central stage with galleries featuring works by female artists and hosting events celebrating women in art. The week is chock full of opportunities for all women looking to experience the vibrant culture of Provincetown and to celebrate LGBTQ women.
