Public Restrooms in Provincetown are All Gender Restrooms.
The Town has designated its public restrooms as All Gender Restrooms to ensure that everyone—regardless of gender identity—has safe and equal access to public restrooms.
Massachusetts State Law prohibits discrimination based on gender identity in public accommodations, including restrooms. This means that everyone has the right to use the restroom that best aligns with their gender identity. By designating our public restrooms as All Gender, the Town is ensuring compliance with state law and supporting equal access for all residents and visitors.
The Town is actively exploring future renovations to these restrooms to improve privacy, accessibility, and safety for all users. We recognize that inclusive facilities should meet a wide range of needs, and this is part of an ongoing effort to make public spaces more welcoming and functional. We know that changes to public spaces can raise questions, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to make spaces safer for all in Provincetown.
