While free parking in Provincetown is very limited in season, there are municipal lots that offer reasonable rates and private lots all throughout the Town.

Parking on Commercial Street is banned during the peak season of May 1st through October 31st, but there are there are 2 manned parking lots – MacMillan Pier Parking Lot and Grace Hall Parking Lot which are both open 24/7.  There are also numerous Kiosk Pay Stations throughout the Town and metered stations.

Provincetown has four Level 2 electric vehicle charging station ports in front of the MacMillan Pier Parking Lot off of Ryder Street Extension.

From November 1st through April 30th parking is free in Town including the municipal lots.

Where can I park?

Parking Enforcement for Parking Lots is from May 1st through October 31st, seven days a week, including holidays.

  • The two staffed parking lots at the MacMillan Pier Lot and Grace Hall are open 24/7.
  • The staffed lots have Pay Station Kiosk that accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover Cards. Cash is not accepted. These lots are enforced from 8:00 am to 12:00 am.
  • Eleven Numbered parking zones are paid for through our Passport Parking App, enforced from 8:00 am to 12:00 am.

MacMillan Pier Parking Lot (MPL)

MacMillan Pier Parking lot, MPL, located in the center of town by Lopes Sq. is a manned lot. Take a ticket from the dispenser on the way in, and when you exit, you turn the ticket into the cashier for payment. We accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover. Cash is not accepted.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Provincetown has four (4) Level 2 electric vehicle charging station ports in front of the MPL off of Ryder Street Extension. The rate to park and charge at the stations is $1.50 per hour. Your vehicle must remain plugged into the station for the entire time it is parked in the space.

Stations can be activated with a ChargePoint card, a contactless credit card (such as American Express ExpressPay or Visa payWave), or by pressing the “Help” button on the station screen and calling the number provided. If you don’t have a ChargePoint card, you can have one sent to you for free by visiting Charge Point. You can search for Provincetown’s charging stations on the ChargePoint map by viewing the Map.

Grace Hall Parking Lot

Grace Hall Parking Lot is located at Prince St. and Bradford St. you can also enter the lot by Captain Birdie Way off of Shank Painter Road. Take a ticket from the dispenser on the way in, and when you exit, you turn the ticket into the cashier for payment. Cash is not accepted.
