Provincetown in the Winter
Provincetown in winter offers a respite from the modern pace of life, which quietly recedes for the season from this small town at land’s end. In the new year, inns and B&Bs still welcome visitors, allowing you to pass a relaxing evening by the fire with a book you’ve long hoped to read, or to seek inspiration in the open and windswept beaches, which feel like yours and yours alone.
But you don’t have to be alone. Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) invites visitors to peruse more than 3,000 works all winter long. It’s open Thursday through Sunday. And while many restaurants and galleries close between January and March, a number keep their doors open to visitors year-round—especially on weekends. You can chat with the shopkeepers, share a table at a delicious dinner, or join a trivia night with the locals. Ptown.org provides a helpful and comprehensive list of everything that’s open for the shortest days of the year.
